The top 5 guns to use in Call of duty Warzone (UPDATED)

The top 5 guns to use in Call of duty Warzone (UPDATED)

Call of Duty is arguably the "King of all Kings" of all the online shooter games.
With its release of Call of Duty: Warzone - a free-to-play battle royale video game released on March 10, 2020 (which is a part of the 2019 title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare), Activision announced that since of May 2020 Warzone had surpassed over 60 million downloads in the first two months. Needless to say, with its new update as of June 29, besides the change of Verdansk which will now be able to hold up to 200 players in Battle Royale Quads, there have been fair numbers of changes and adjustments to the guns as well. Taking that into consideration we will be looking into the top 5 guns to use in the new updated version of Call of Duty: Warzone.

5. RAM-7

A weapon that does 42 damage per bullet to the head, 28 to the body, and with 860 fire rate per minute, this assault rifle holds the reputation as the weapon with the fastest time to kill potential than any other assault rifle.

Before the update, this weapon wouldn’t make in our top 5 list due to the high recoil frequency which was preventing this weapon to be as lethal as the Grau or the Kilo on medium or long-range battles. But regardless, it was still used by many players and one could make a good argument that this was the best assault rifle on close distance battles - an assault rifle that was almost as good as the best SMGs inside buildings and in close combat on open fields battles.

What makes this weapon so good after the update and why it is making up to our top 5 list now is that with the newest update this amazing assault rifle improved greatly in accuracy with the adjustment of no recoil at all. Yes, you read that right, there is 0 recoil, which makes this rifle super precise. With the newest update and the latest improvement, this assault rifle could easily give the Grau players a headache on medium or long-distance shootings, and with that it deserves to be on our list of top 5 weapons to use.

4. Kilo 141 & M13

The reason why we put these two weapons together tied in 4th place is that these two are the closest weapons to what the Grau used to be before the update. They are both fully automatic and easy to use, which means these weapons are suitable for any kind of player, whether a beginner or a seasoned player.
What’s good about these two weapons is that they almost didn’t get touched in the new update, in other words, they were and they remain great assault rifles. And if pound-for-pound the Grau was better, with the newest update these weapons can easily beat the Grau in many aspects.
The Kilo for example, has an even faster kill time than the Grau. It does 42 damage per bullet to the head, 28 to the body, and with its attributes of 1.34 seconds reload speed and fire rate of 750 rounds fired per minute, it’s super easy to use, even for starters.
On the other hand, the M13 does not do as much damage as the Kilo, with 36 damage per bullet to the head and 24 to the body, but it has a ridiculous fire rate of 900 rounds per minute, no recoil, and second fastest reloading time than any other weapon of 1.30 seconds, which would make this assault rifle one of the best weapons on medium-range battles and the most suitable weapon for the newbies in this game.

3. MP5

The MP5 is a SMG (submachine gun) and the SMGs have been largely replaced by assault rifles, which have a longer effective range and are capable of penetrating helmets and body armor. However, submachine guns are ideal for close-quarters battle because they are "a pistol-caliber” weapon that's easy to control, but less likely to over-penetrate the target. Yes, with the newest update the MP5 was nerfed a little bit which led to decreased damage range, reduced long-range damage, and slight recoil increase to 10 mm ammo, but regardless of that, it’s still arguably the best SMG weapon out there and probably the best secondary weapon to be paired with any other primarily weapon.
It deals 49 damage per bullet to the head, 34 to the body, with a fire rate of 800 rounds per minute. Before the update, this SMG could be even used on medium-range battle, but now it’s more realistic to its name of a SMG, which means destroying enemies up close but lacking skills on long-range battles. So if you enter in a building in the game and you are wondering which weapon is the best to be used on such close-quarters battle, this one might be the right for you.

2. FAL

This semi-automatic assault rifle is the Cinderella story of the newest update in this game. Once a weapon that barely anyone wanted to use, now turned into one of the most terrifying and powerful weapons in the whole game with one shot headshot kill potential.
Can you imagine, an assault rifle with ridiculous 105 damage per bullet to the head and 78 to the body, it’s designed to absolutely shred enemies to pieces. It holds only 20 rounds in a default clip, but since it’s super powerful and semi-automatic 20 rounds per clip are just enough to kill an entire squad.
It’s Ideal to be paired with MP5, but since it’s a semi-automatic it takes particular skill to use, making it suitable for seasoned players. It doesn’t require exceptional skills but regular skills which would not be recommended for the new players who just got into this game. The maximum damage range is increased up to 18 meters, and the time to kill is twice as fast as any other weapon, whether it is on short or long-range battles. Yes, we are not overestimating – the time to kill is twice as fast as any other weapon after the new update of Warzone. Not that it wasn’t good before the update, but now with increased damage, it’s simply unreal and ridiculous.
You can also use a burst fire that would be good on short-distance battles and your enemy would not know what even hit them, but if you use this slot on long-range, out of 3 bullets bursts only the first one would land precisely while the remaining two would most likely miss the target. It’s still early to say, but this weapon could most likely become the most feared weapon on Call of Duty: Warzone updated.

1. Grau 5.56

Yes, we believe many of you saw this coming, but still were wondering whether this weapon would again be the undisputed heavyweight champion of all weapons after the update, because alongside the MP5, the Grau also got nerfed.
With the new update, it got damage range reduction, slight increase to high-frequency recoil, reduced recoil compensation and decreased range on Tempus 26.4” Archangel and FSS 20.8” Nexus barrels, but regardless of that this legendary assault rifle is still on the top of our list, regardless that it’s not as powerful as it used to be.
Before the update, this weapon was almost perfect and it was used by almost every player. One would think that after the update this assault rifle would not be no. 1 weapon anymore, but that would be a wrong statement, because the update made it little less perfect but far from being any less good than the other good weapons. The reason why this weapon got nerfed is that it was almost flawless and with the new update the using of weapons would be more balanced and within it should give a chance to the other assault rifles to become primary weapons to the Call of Duty players.
What’s great about this rifle is that it’s a weapon suitable for any kind of player, whether beginner or a pro. It used to have 0 recoil which was making it so easy to use, but since the update in the recoil, one should possess a bit of a skill to use it, because you can’t just hold the trigger and shred enemies to pieces anymore. This assault rifle does 42 damage per bullet to the head, 28 to the chest, with a rate of fire of 730 rounds per minute and an incredible 1.32 reload speed. So the question is: Is the Grau still the best weapon on Call of Duty: Warzone? And the answer is: Yes.

Honorable Mentions

We can’t finish this list before making an honorable mention to a few other weapons.
The M4R1 (assault rifle) is a classic Call of Duty weapon, and always one of the best, dealing 42 damage per bullet to the head, 28 to the body with a fire rate of 800 rounds per minute.
The MP7 (SMG) – an easy weapon to use, and the best SMG alongside the MP5. It does 40 damage per bullet to the head, 34 to the body, and it holds the reputation of a weapon with the 2nd highest fire rate among the SMGs with 900 rounds per minute. It lacks ability on the medium-range fight but it may beat any other SMG on super close range distance. Fluid to use and recoil is none existing.
The Fennec (SMG) does 40 damage per bullet to head, 25 to body with a ridiculous fire rate of 1100 rounds per minute but it has slow reloading speed.
AX-50 – best sniper to use but not recommendable for beginners, usually suitable for seasoned players.
Of course, with the right attachments any of these weapons could easily make up to the top 5, but that depends on the individuality of the players and the style of playing.

The Update

The new update was a great choice of the developers to make a proper balance in weapons stats. The question that came with that was whether the Grau or the MP5 are still the best assault rifle and SMG in the game, and the answer is… yes. It’s true that they got nerfed and they are slightly decreased in power and accuracy, but nevertheless, it didn’t make them lose their title of undisputed kings of Warzone weapons.
Besides MP5 no other SMG weapon has been changed which gives an opportunity for the Fennec and MP7 to be used more, and the same can be said for the Kilo or M13, which the new update made them look almost as good as the Grau. And if that’s not enough, players who prefer fierce power over speed and fire rate, now with the new update they can use the FAL and RAM-7 even more, making this game even more exciting than ever.
